Wildalpen Wasserverwertungs GmbH, like other beverage manufacturers, is preparing for the introduction of the EU Directive 2019/904, which requires beverage containers up to 3 litres to be fitted with a tethered cap. As a first step, Wiladalp has decided to apply this type of cap to its products closed with sportcaps. The switch to this new type of caps involved replacing the existing sorting equipment with a new one, which thus complemented our previously supplied triblock PVN 24/24/8 and our caps sorter TZP for low screw closures.
SORTEC is a high performing and very reliable device designed for the transport and orientation of closures. The device allows to process a wide range of cap types, especially caps that cannot be oriented on the TZP orientator. It includes an elevator with a hopper that ensures the transport of caps to the orientator drum. The project also included the modification of the cap track to the new sportcaps, which differ in external dimensions from the previous type, and the supply of a new feeding star for the pick-and-place system and new chucks for the capping heads.
